10:00 pm
appreciate it. cannot wait to hear the album. that is all the time we have left. we hope you have a great weekend. [captioning made possible by fox news channel] captioned by the national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- >> tiger might be out of the hospital, but he is not out of the woods. what sent him careening out of control and smashing into a fire hydrant outside his home? i am shannon gbream in for greta. this is believed to show the exact fire hydrant tiger ran into. phil keating is with us now with the latest. good evening to you. >> there are important questions right now. we do not know why tiger woods was leaving his house at 2:30 in the morning by himself on the morning after thanksgiving
10:01 pm
evening or where he was going and why he was leaving so early in the morning. part of the reason was investigators have yet to speak with tiger woods. he was in and out of consciousness first on -- according to investigators first on the scene and they could not talk to him then. they tried to talk to him at a hospital today, but he was busy being treated. investigators did go back to the home tonight, hoping to have a one-on-one interview with tiger woods. his wife answered the door and told investigators that he was sleeping. investigators are going to try to have the initial interview with the world's number one goal for some time tomorrow. new information. we are --
10:02 pm
police gave a late-night news conference and they describe exactly how they found the scene in tiger woods' neighborhood when they arrived. >> my officers were on the scene and tiger woods was on the ground in front of his vehicle with his wife over him. his wife came out of the house when she heard him hit the fire hydrant and use a golf club to break up the rear window to gain entrance to the vehicle and removed him from the vehicle and laid him on the street. >> officers on the scene say there was no indication alcohol or drugs were involved. there was no breathalyzer use on the scene due to the condition he was in. whether a blood up a whole test was taken at a hospital, that is something we do not know yet. they are trying to downplay this
10:03 pm
whole accident. tiger woods left his house and hit a fire hydrant, then careened into his neighbor's yard. whether there will be a criminal charge still remains a question. shannon: thank you, phil keating. we have heard from tiger woods through his website and his hospital, a joint statement saying he was in a minor accident and saying he was admitted country to come and released in good condition. he goes on to say that they appreciate everyone's good wishes and thought. it sounds like everyone is saying this is a minor incident. joining us now to talk more about it is the mayor of that town. thank you for joining us tonight. can you add anything to what law enforcement is saying? do you know anything more? >> no, actually, i do not.
10:04 pm
police arrived upon the scene and we were there within two minutes of being called. we have a mutual aid agreement. within less than a mile from as home, we can be there within two minutes. when we arrived on the scene, mr. woods was lying upon the ground, bleeding from his mouth and nose. our officers immediately responded and provided the necessary attention that was required. medical treatment was provided by the health central hospital. they came forward. they took him and i think it was actually some minor injuries. he was administered to and release. i currently believe that this was basically an accident. it is something that is
10:05 pm
unfortunate. shannon: you live in a beautiful area with high-profile folks. when something like this happens and law enforcement gets involved, how was it dealt with? >> that is true, but we have people such as shaquille o'neal, tiger. it comes with the territory. we live in one of the great areas that everybody wants to live in and we are proud to live there. we respect their privacy. at the same time, we know they live here for the same reasons we do. it is a great area. i do not think what has happened is any different than any other thing that has happened in the area. we will continue to respect their privacy and respect the fact that they enjoy living here. phil keating shannon: talked about how authorities -- shannon: phil keating talked
10:06 pm
about how authorities wanted to talk to him. do you have a timeline? >> i don't know. he is supposed to play golf within the next week. it is my hope, and i am sure all the people of the world, not just the nation, hope you will be able to play. i really think it is really a minor accident. the fact that he hit a fire hydrant and a tree -- it does not get easier, whether it is a cadillac or smaller vehicle. shannon: we hope he is up and running by next week. we all have fender benders and none of us have to play it out in the spotlight like tiger woods. thank you for being with us tonight. >> thank you for having me and happy thanksgiving. shannon: it is getting more bizarre by the minute. who could forget the scene from "the wedding crashers"? >> i hate to see you like this, but we have to look at reality.
10:07 pm
there will be secret service. they have pictures of us. there's not a shot in hell we can get in. >> i'm a risk taker. i am two steps ahead of you. we are waiters. shannon: life is imitating art as a couple proved when they were able to crash the president's first state dinner tuesday night. >> mr. and mrs. salahi. shannon: here they are with chief of staff rahm emanuel and getting cozy with the vice president. also, they got to shake hands with the commander-in-chief. this is not a movie and officials are not laughing. the ranking member of the homeland security committee said, "i am calling for a full investigation of how the shocking breach of security was allowed to happen and what is
10:08 pm
being done to make sure it never happens again." here is molly henneberg, in washington. >> fox has confirmed the couple not only got in but also met president obama in the receiving line. also today, in a statement, a secret service director mark sullivan says the agency is "deeply concerned and embarrassed" that the couple was able to get past security. he goes on to say, "although these people went through levels of screening, they should have been prohibited from entering the event entirely. that failing as ours." appropriate measures have been taken to ensure this is not repeated. there are still questions tonight about how this could have happened. >> it just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser. in this wonderland called washington, how did michaele and tareq salahi get into the state dinner at the white house? the white house says they were not on the guest list.
10:09 pm
the first lady brushoff a question about it. an attorney for the couple told us cryptically, "my clients were cleared by the white house to be there. more information is forthcoming." a hairstylist helped michaele get ready. >> i asked her if she had her invitation and if i could see it. she was excited to show me. she was going in her purse to get it. >> she could not find it. the salahis are being considered for a reality series and live 90 minutes west of washington. the secret service said it has not ruled out the possibility of filing criminal charges against the couple. as for the reality show series, bravo tb tells us that camera crews were falling salahi that day but were not on white house grounds. the couple said they were invited to the dinner and
10:10 pm
producers had no reason to believe otherwise. shannon: thank you so much. joining us is a 20-year veteran of the secret service, served on detail for all the presidents from reagan through george w. bush. welcome. you do not actually sound surprised that something like this could happen. >> it was the first a dinner. it was a big night for the obamas. it was a perfect storm. the rain was bad. there were probably numerous rivals. staffers are always happy to get the people in and out of the street, getting their clothes dirty or soiled, and the only procedure right think that the alter the cracks was they were not on the list, but they were cleared as far as their credentials went and they went through all the security procedures. when they were in, they were just placed on the list. that is why they were announced into the room itself. shannon: concerned should we be
10:11 pm
that they got all the way to the president? they were not invited to this event. could they have something else with them? what could happen to somebody who gets to the president? >> i think in addition to the magnetometers, the proper protocol to check for all kinds of different devices that might be on anybody, including someone in the room that was on the guest list, a congressman, a senator, an entertainer, there are layers of protection within the room. there are agents in the room and different types of devices, cameras, and people monitor things that would ensure the safety of the president. there are agents close enough to make sure that they are well- protected. shannon: secret service said this is their top and vacation. they're embarrassed. what will this do to their careers? could people be losing their jobs? >> the possibility of somebody
10:12 pm
being reprimanded is probably going to happen. i think it might be a shared responsibility between our agency and the white house staff. it may not just the total blame on the secret service. as my former director has stated, he is embarrassed for the agency and we are going to find out what happened and make sure it never happens again shannon: -- again. shannon: in your opinion, it will be tighter than ever now. >> we learn from these mistakes. shannon: thank you so much. coming up next, rick santorum and congressman dennis kucinich weigh in on the white house party crasher controversy.
10:13 pm
10:14 pm
10:15 pm
shannon: former u.s. senator santorum and current congressman dennis kucinich joins us now to talk about this big story we have been following. senator, were you concerned when you heard the story unfold in? >> not really. i think people forget. presidential candidates are out there all the time, as well as presidents. they are not in a completely controlled environment. it drives the search -- the secret service crazy, but there are all sorts of people that have not been on the list.
10:16 pm
the breach of having someone snake in is embarrassing, but i do not think it was a security threat. i am sure he needs more people with more suspicious background during the course of doing public events. congress shannon: men, there has been talk of an investigation being launched from capitol hill. would you be supportive of that? do you think it would be helpful in any way? >> this is an overblown story and i am surprised you're giving it as much coverage. i am looking forward to talking about afghanistan, which is what you invited me on the air to do. shannon: we will get to that. an important topic there as well. do you think the investigation will be helpful in any way? >> i think this is -- i would agree. this is an overblown story. this is a precarious time. we are at war and we have to be extra cautious and protect our elected officials. i am sure there will do a
10:17 pm
thorough investigation. i don't think this is something that the president was in it and -- was in any danger. shannon: do you think these people are getting what they wanted? they want to be reality tv stars. maybe we are giving them just what they wanted. >> maybe they should have tried to put a kid in a balloon and fly him into the white house. that is what they sound like. instead of going to jail, maybe they will get a tv show what the. shannon: they seem to have nothing sinister in mind, but they did get all the way to the president. they do put some people along the way. shouldn't there be some concern that someone could crash a state event where we have a prime minister from a foreign country and our leader as well? >> i would just say that these people went through security. they certainly did not look out
10:18 pm
of the ordinary. as your secret service person said, they are monitored very closely. there are agents in the room. i am not too sure this was something i would be overly concerned about. shannon: will continue to monitor the situation as it gets headlines. thank you for joining us. we will have that big debate coming up on afghanistan. the president will unveil his long-awaited exit strategy. is he going to send more troops? how long will he be there? how much will it cost you? senator santorum and congressmen to senate take on that debate. -- congressman dennis kucinich take on that debate.
10:19 pm
10:20 pm
10:21 pm
>> will it take longer? >> there are a series of decisions that have to be made. the president is working through many of those decisions in order to come to what he believes is the best way forward for our national security. i think the american people want the president to take the time to get this decision right, rather than to make a hasty decision. shannon: tuesday, president obama will address the nation on
10:22 pm
his proposed policy for the afghanistan war, which may come with a $50 billion price tag. former senator brick santorum and ohio congressman dennis kucinich. congressman, i will start with you. you have great concern about how this situation could possibly affect our national security. >> it will have an affect on our national security and i suggest the fight is here in our own country. we are mired in debt. we will go deeply into debt for this work. gdp is down. savings are down. bankruptcies are up. home foreclosures are up. we are doing foreign borrowing. this war is undermining our nation and we need to address this issue head on and ask what we gain from it. i do not see any upside. shannon: what do we gain? >> this is the argument of the left, we should withdraw from our engagements overseas and spend an enormous amount of money on bigger government here
10:23 pm
at home and raise taxes on rich people to pay for it. that is the mantra from people from david obey to dennis kucinich. there is no war we're supposed to fight. we are supposed to let the chinese and the russians run the world and we are supposed to retreat and build the ever, ever, ever-growing government. that is not the vision for america. we want an activist america to keep our country safe by being a leader in the free world and that means to go out to the enemy, who has attacked us. they were in afghanistan and continue to be in afghanistan and pakistan. we have to keep them on the defensive instead of giving them the opportunity to regroup. shannon: congressman, there is an immense price tag for this war. your colleagues have mentioned a war tax. are you behind that idea? >> i am against further taxes to
10:24 pm
pay for this war. i think it has to be pointed out, this is not a left-right issue. here is the cato institute, harvard wrote an article about "escaping the graveyard empire's." they have a plan that gets us out of afghanistan with advisers and a new approach to intelligence and a new drug policy. this is not a left and right issue. our country is on the line. we have the middle class getting destroyed. the bureaucracy is not holding it up. it is the defense department. we cannot keep paying for the wars. the bank is already being broken. forget the left-right. it is about whether we are right to stay there and whether we will leave our troops there and whether we will be one of those empires. let's start thinking about things at home. that is what i am concerned about. shannon: is it your opinion that the president should not follow
10:25 pm
requests of the military leaders on the ground? do you think it's time to cut and run? >> here we go again, "cut and run a report that is what they were saying about iraq. -- "cut and run." that is what they were saying about iraq. they never found weapons of mass destructions. what are they thinking about in the white house? they promised a new direction. that direction is not deeper into afghanistan. 30,000 new troops will cause third -- will cost $35 billion per year. will we borrow more money from china so we can fight in afghanistan? come on. shannon: can we afford to leave? >> the congressmen can afford close to $1 trillion stimulus package, another trillion dollars in health care and cap and trade, but when it comes to protecting the united states, we cannot find a couple hundred
10:26 pm
billion dollars. when you look at defense spending over the course of the last 50 years, about 60% of the americans' budget in 1960 was defense spending. it is now about 12%. don't tell the american public that the defense is soaking up all the money. this war is putting us into the deficit, that is not true. entitlements, the things that tennis -- @ dennis kucinich on the left have supported is what is putting us in debt and want to give us more entitlements, which will put us deeper in debt. >> they never backer is hardly a flaming liberal and he gave a speech against staying in afghanistan, as did jim duncan. to try to make this left-right is to lock us into old thinking that keeps us in wars we should not have fought in the first place. it undermines our national
10:27 pm
security and makes it less likely we will have our economy rebound. taking care of things to write home. i am saying we should have left there after we found al qaeda and their training camps, which i voted for, and i voted against that environmental legislation you cited. i voted against the bailout for wall street. do not play the liberal and conservative thing. you are off base. are we right to stay in afghanistan? what benefits do we get? can americans pay the price in dollars and soldiers? we need a real debate on this. the left-right stuff means nothing. shannon: we have to leave it there. thank you for a spirited debate. we wish you and your family is the best. thank you very much. >> thank you. shannon: was the black friday's shock -- black friday shopping spree enough of what the economy needed? we will call you in on how the
10:28 pm
holiday season is shaping up.
10:29 pm
10:30 pm
shannon: today as black friday, also known as the biggest shopping day of the year. early reports indicate larger grounds that -- larger crowds than last year. here is correspondent doug kennedy.
10:31 pm
>> they called it a retail riot, a truly black friday that left one worker dead, trampled by frenzied shoppers looking for deals at this long island walmart one year ago. this year, retailers changed the way they do business. >> following the event last year in new york, retailers have been looking at their crowd control policies. >> walmart took precautions. last year -- unlike last year, the big box stores kept its doors open on thursday to avoid a mass shopping surge when doors were unlocked on black friday morning. >> black friday has been a crowd that gathered her because, following the thanksgiving day, they run special promotions, hot items that consumers are told to arrive early. >> it was not always this way. american consumers in the
10:32 pm
1940's, while still obsessed with shopping, showed restraint while standing in line. this year, retailers say electronic items like cheap tvs and navigation equipment sparked most of the post-turkey day shopping spree. some electronics stores are also doing things different this year. best buy will hand out tickets in order to control the crowds. not everyone is happy about the changes. matt says he is a big spender during the holidays and he likes a little competition. you don't want to be handed the ticket. >> that is right. i am a new yorker. people want their right to be first in line all the time. >> malls in general open more entrances and exits to protect shoppers. other retailers like macy's ran presales, stretching a one-day sale into an entire week.
10:33 pm
>> the black friday event last year was a good opportunity to revisit the procedures to make sure we are doing the best job we can for our customers and employees. >> trying to keep this year's black friday from being quite so black. that is it from here. back to you. shannon: with the holiday shopping season under way, how will the economy impact the stores and how much customers will buy? here to help us sort it out is steve forbes, author of "how capitalism will save us." we also have stephen moore. joining us from los angeles, we have susan. welcome to all of you. steve forbes, let me start with you. there is a mixed message for consumers because we need them to spend to generate things for
10:34 pm
the economy, but we are being told to be cautious. cut the credit card spending. how do we sort out the message? >> you have to get to a big economic policy. you will only get real consumer spending going if we create more jobs. right now, the economy is not working for small businesses. banks are reluctant to lend. consumer loans are still trying to get out there. this season will be better than it was last year. that is a low bar. we will not get a full recovery until small businesses and consumers can get a reliable flow of credit. that will not happen until we strengthen the dollar. very basic. weak dollar, weak recovery. shannon: how important is the single day for retailers going into the holiday season and for their entire bottom line for 2009? >> it is hugely important. this is a big weekend. i can never understand, why do
10:35 pm
they call it black friday? they should call it "capitalism friday" or something like that. people shop and it is a great tradition. until americans feel secure in their jobs, i am skeptical we will see the robust numbers in sales to retailers want. if you don't have a job, you do not have an income. shannon: we know there are so many things going on right now. the afghanistan war, health care. the economy is the primary thing americans are concerned about. how does this play as a political story as well? >> it will be interesting to watch. it is one thing to have people standing in lines for $300 televisions. that is easy. that is what most of the pictures are about. i think the steves are probably right. what we are looking at his better than last year, but
10:36 pm
certainly not enough to spur a sense that, you know, we are back on track. the challenge for the obama administration is, how do you sell a so-so christmas? do you sell it by saying, look, it's better it is than last year? it was lousy. do you say, just wait until next year? shannon: the steves have a lot of good points. steve forbes, from the title of your book, i can guess where you are coming from. so many things have to be rebuilt so people have jobs and can have money to spend. what are the things that would be good economic policy to get that jump-start going? >> first and the most easy is to get the dollar strengthened again. the federal reserve announced it will not print more money. a stable dollar means you get business investment. if the administration does something it will not do, get rid of job-killing things like
10:37 pm
the health care proposal, it would be the best thing for that to die, and then on the tax side, do something they will not do, which is decrease tax rates. put health care on the side. cut tax rates. stabilize the dollar. and within a year, barack obama will look like a hero. shannon: do you see them pulling any of that off in the near future? >> no. i agree with steve on this one. shannon: you do not see that coming down the pike? >> i wrote to -- i think they want to get health care passed. they would not see it as a favor to get rid of that. i do not think they're looking at cutting taxes, at least not for those on this panel and probably watching us. on those key ones, and as for not printing more money, i think they have the press is still
10:38 pm
warm. >> i think that is a big mistake because i think the president should put reality aside. look at how we got out of some of the last recessions. steve writes about this in his new book. i love your book. it is true. look at what happened in the 1980's when we had a severe recession. in 2003, we had investment tax cuts. got the economy going. get barack obama to follow the jack kennedy approach. put more money in the hands of businesses. shannon: we have everyone on the brady bunch shot. raise your hand if you started any of your shopping. stick around. up next, one couples foreclosure fight goes from nightmare too sweet dream. mark fuhrman will join us for a special edition.
10:39 pm
10:40 pm
in the north of england to my new job at the refinery in the south. i'll never forget. it used one tank of petrol and i had to refill it twice with oil. a new car today has 95% lower emissions than in 1970. exxonmobil is working to improve cars, liners of tires, plastics which are lighter and advanced hydrogen technologies that could increase fuel efficiency by up to 80%.
10:41 pm
>> i am lauren sivan. we're learning more about the car crash involving ball for tiger woods. his wife scrambled to get him out of the wreck. >> from what we understand, his wife came out of the house when he -- when she heard him hit the fire hydrant and use a golf club to break up the rear window to
10:42 pm
gain entrance and remove him. she laid him on the street. >> woods was in and out of consciousness when police arrived. they do not believe the alcohol was involved. a smooth touch on for the space shuttle a atlantis and the seven astronauts on board. the crude delivered parts to the international space station and they also performed three space walks to install new equipment and carry out maintenance. i am lauren sivan. we go back to "on the record." >> i do not think that was asking too much. there were terrible. they have nowhere to go. this is a home. they were fighting and no one was helping them. i am glad the judge finally said poor business practices not be condoned. shannon: an early christmas
10:43 pm
present was given to a couple when a judge wiped away their debt. the judge blasted the california bank that loaned them money, saying they acted in a harsh, repugnant, shocking way. this looks like it is a first of its kind. what kind of precedent does this set? who gets to step in and say who gets bailed out? steve forbes, stephen moore, and susan are still with us. >> this will probably be overturned on appeal. this underscores what happens when the government gets in the housing market. the government -- if the government had not printed so much money, we would not have had the bubble. the couple would not have gotten the loan. when they got the loan, the bank was under pressure from regulators. tighten your standards. they said the loan to another
10:44 pm
group, that wants to get the money out quickly. everyone ends up a loser. this is what happens when the government gets involved. if they had not greeted the house and bubble, the couple would still have their house today. shannon: these people tried many times to negotiate and they were turned away. is this the break they should have gotten? >> no. >> i think this is outrageous. i am sorry, were you talking to me? shannon: go right ahead. >> i think this idea that people took out loans they could not pay are somehow victims, it is wrongheaded. people signed the contracts. a lot of these sub-prime mortgages people could not pay. 1/3 of the people live on the application. to say the government can terribly contractor -- our country is based on the sanctity of contracts.
10:45 pm
the banks have an incentive to renegotiate contracts, but not with the government. susan shannon: ? >> i agree. -- shannon: susan? >> i agree. i look at the facts. they refinanced their house. they took out an initial mortgage, which they probably could afford. when the housing boom came, for whatever reason it came, they sought opportunity to get a bunch of money out of their house. they doubled their mortgage, took 120 or so out, and now find themselves unable to pay this mortgage that is probably more money than they ever should have phoned in the first place. my heart goes out to them. they have health problems. you know, this is not the business of the judiciary to come in and say, we are going to blow these mortgages out. it is ultimately not going to
10:46 pm
help the couple because of the lawyer. steve forbes is right. it gets reversed on appeal and what good does it do them in the long run? >> you get an a in economics today. shannon: do you think this will embolden other judges or other bureaucrats to get involved, inserting themselves into these contracts? >> it has already happened. the treasury report -- treasury department has muddied the reports on what happened with defaults. where does the first mortgage stand? the second mortgage? the only one buying mortgages now is the government, fannie and freddie. the private market is not working and that is holding back to recover. we are a mobile nation and people cannot move were the jobs are. when the government gets involved, we all end up the loser. shannon: we will end on a moment of agreement.
10:47 pm
thank you all very much. coming up, "the best of the rest" takes on the uninvited guests. who are they? how did they get in? the tiger woods accident investigation and possible charges he could now be facing.
10:48 pm
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeq
10:49 pm
10:50 pm
shannon: you have seen our top stories, but here is "the best of the rest." we have mark fuhrman. we are talking about the top stories of the day. first, the tiger woods' fender bender. it could land him in hot water with the florida highway patrol. what have caused the golfer to hit a fire hydrant before coming to a stop? what do you make of it?
10:51 pm
>> well, i think, first, he is a great golfer. we do not know he is a great driver. it sounds like the might of been something going on in the house. he might have been upset or in a hurry. when i read this article and listen to the newscast, i am picking up little things like, no alcohol was involved. if he did not have any objective symptoms of impairment, that means it would not -- they would not take any blood. there might be charges related to what took place in the house before he left in the car or could be something that he was not wearing a seat belt. he was not driving with a certain level of attention that caused the accident. it means a traffic ticket. shannon: it sounds like both tiger and his wife reportedly said they had an argument before this incident.
10:52 pm
you mentioned that maybe that could play in some how. authorities will figure out exactly what happened. >> you know, they will ask questions. this is not the crime of the century. he should be able to have a traffic accident in private. i wonder, in this exclusive community in florida, how the law enforcement get there so quickly? if the neighbor was home and call the police, that is one thing. were the police already enroute for some other reason? these are things that will come out a little later. the whole thing, i think, is being blown out of proportion because it is tiger woods. i hope it is just what it is, he is just not a very attentive driver. he hit a fire hydrant and a tree. shannon: we have all had a tiff
10:53 pm
with our spouse and we have all had a fender bender. they do not believe the alcohol was involved. it does say possible charges are pending. what do you make of that? maybe inattentiveness while driving? >> when you are talking about the highway cut -- highway patrol, charges to them are from, you know, vehicular homicide down to traffic tickets. they deal with traffic tickets all the time. a citation could be a misdemeanor, which turns out to be a charge. a misdemeanor could be something that -- reckless driving. he left at a high rate of speed and they see skid marks that could show the proximate be. we know he was not going faster than 33 miles an hour because his air bag did not deploy. i am not sure how serious of an accident this is. shannon: we are glad he is in good shape.
10:54 pm
we want to talk about the party crashing, the high society wannabes, michaele and tareq salahi. their lawyer says they were cleared by the white house. the white house says they were not invited. could they be facing time? the word is they did not commit a crime, but if you find your way into the white house, what could be the possible consequence to them? >> i saw the for segment with a retired secret service agent. i think he was very informative, but i think he was guarded because he cannot really say what i believe he feels. not speaking for him, but reading between the lines, i think the white house staff is interfering with the security procedures of the secret service plain clothes and uniform. those are two different groups of officers. this is a very serious situation. we are in the midst of two wars and a war on terror throughout
10:55 pm
the world. we have the vice president and the president now with two people that have not had a background that got in there with no security clearance whatsoever, and the white house says, they went through the metal detector. that is really nice, but we are in the age of biological and chemical weapons that have been deployed already in washington, d.c., in the form of anthrax. i find this to be a huge security breach and so does the secret service. i have laughed about this in a way that there is nobody hurt, so you can laugh, but laughter should take on a serious note. it is harder to get into a rolling stones concert without a ticket and get into the white house. shannon: this had a happy ending, by all accounts. there is a bit of embarrassment for those involved. it is serious, someone getting to the president of the united states. is there any possibility that
10:56 pm
there could be more of a chance of making an example of this couple with prosecutors and grand jury's going forward? could there be criminal charges? >> i think they should. i think the officer that was so dismisses with the security procedures, i do not necessarily want to attack him. i think we should find out why. is he being harangued by white house staff that have no idea what security really involves and the layers of security, which the agent was laying out? you do have to make an example because, let's be honest. the terrorists are watching. you have to make an example because they premeditated this act for nothing more than a sideshow. shannon: thank you so much for sitting in on this friday. thank you. black friday shopping takes an
10:57 pm
unexpected twist. wait until you see what happened outside a michigan best buy. a very special holiday season kickoff of "the last call."
